Scale
Main Ingredients
- 8 oz uncooked short pasta (farfalle, elbow noodles, penne, rigatoni, ziti, or rotini)
- 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- Pinch of red chili flakes (optional)
- Olive oil cooking spray, generous amount
Instructions
- Boil Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to the package directions until al dente. Drain well.
- Season Pasta: Transfer the cooked pasta to a large mixing bowl. Spray with a generous amount of olive oil cooking spray and toss to coat evenly. Add Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, kosher salt, black pepper, and red chili flakes if using. Toss again to combine all flavors thoroughly.
- Air Fryer Method: Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Arrange the pasta in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring no overlapping. You may need to do this in batches depending on your fryer size. Cook for 4 minutes, then toss the pasta and cook for another 4 to 5 minutes until crispy to your liking. Repeat until all pasta chips are cooked.
- Oven Baked Method: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the seasoned pasta evenly in a single layer on the prepared sheet. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oven.
- Serve: Serve the crispy pasta chips warm with dips such as Zero Point Marinara Sauce, Homemade Skinny Alfredo Sauce, Cheese Dip, or Skinny Ranch Sauce for a delicious snack or appetizer.
Notes
- For best results, make sure the pasta is only cooked al dente so it crisps nicely.
- You can use gluten free pasta or whole grain pasta based on dietary preferences.
- The olive oil cooking spray helps achieve a crispy texture without excess oil.
- These pasta chips make a great party snack or quick appetizer and are delicious paired with various dips.
- If air frying, avoid overcrowding the basket as it will prevent even crisping.
- Store leftover pasta chips in an airtight container to maintain crunchiness.
