Ingredients
Scale
Slider Assembly
- 1 (12-ounce) package Hawaiian sweet dinner rolls (such as King’s Hawaiian)
- 3 cups shredded chicken breast
- 3/4 cup hot sauce (such as Frank’s RedHot or Frank's Buffalo)
- 1/4 cup ranch dressing (Greek yogurt-based recommended)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella (or provolone, or Havarti cheese, divided)
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Place a rack in the center of your oven and preheat to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
- Prepare Buns: Without separating the buns completely, slice the slider buns horizontally into top and bottom halves. Place the bottom half flat in the center of the lined baking sheet.
- Mix Chicken Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken breast, hot Buffalo sauce, ranch dressing, and garlic powder. Mix thoroughly until evenly coated.
- Assemble Sliders: Sprinkle a small handful of the shredded cheese over the bottom buns on the baking sheet. Evenly spread the Buffalo chicken mixture over the cheese, then add the remaining cheese evenly on top of the chicken layer.
- Top Buns and Brush: Place the top half of the buns over the chicken and cheese layers. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter and Italian seasoning, then brush this mixture liberally over the top of the slider buns to add flavor and promote browning.
- Bake Sliders: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the tops of the buns are golden brown.
- Cool and Serve: Remove the sliders from the oven and transfer to a cutting board. Allow to cool for a few minutes for easier handling. Carefully slice the sliders apart with a serrated knife and serve warm.
Notes
- Using ranch dressing adds a creamy tang that complements the spicy Buffalo sauce perfectly.
- Hawaiian sweet rolls provide a subtle sweetness that balances the heat for a perfect bite.
- You can substitute mozzarella with provolone or Havarti cheese for different flavor profiles.
- For a spicier kick, add extra hot sauce or a pinch of cayenne pepper to the chicken mixture.
- Sliders are best served fresh but can be reheated gently in the oven to preserve the melty cheese texture.
